The Moroso & Cyclepalooza bike bash - The Blowout Motorcycle event of the year

JUPITER, Fla. – On January 28th, Moroso Motorsports Park and CyclePalooza hosted the largest all-out motorcycle event of the year. Sponsors, Harley Davidson Buell of Palm Beach and Treasure Coast/Stuart Harley Davidson and the Gater 98.7fm made sure the crowd had plenty of bikes on display as well as live broadcasts throughout the day. This one-day event was packed with ¼ mile Drag Racing, a huge Bike Show with over 100 entries, Foxy Boxing sponsored by the Spearmint Rhino, The Demented Graphics Bikini Contest the Greater Yamaha Mini-Motard racing and more. The weather was nice throughout the day and the Bike Show featured some of the nicest rides in the South. Taking the $300 cash prize and award for the Red Devils Cycle “Best of Show – American” award was Jim Corby from Custom Bikes of Lauderdale with his ’06 Clockwork Orange Custom. “Best of Show – Import”, sponsored by Xtreme Cycle Toys went to Nikki Guevara of Orlando with her ’03 Suzuki Hayabusa. “Best Custom Design” was awarded to Austin Weiss, of Pompano Beach, for his ’06 Streamline Designs ‘Getting Loose’. Off of the midway and onto the strip, there was action everywhere. Featured class and crowd favorite is the Top Fuel. The #1 qualifier was Barry Greene, of Hinesville, GA. Greene’s pass of 6.812 @ 195.56mph bumped Coodee Thomas, of Conyers, GA, into slot #2 after Thomas had the Low ET & Top Speed (6.877 @ 193.57mph) in the first round. Barry Greene was also #1 in the Street Outlaw class (7.212 @ 195.31mph). Top Gas #1 qualifier was Shawn Rainey, of Jupiter, with an ET of 8.213 @ 158.97mph.The Audio Advisors V-Twin Street Legal class pushed Larry Edmondon, Jr., of Lafayette, IN, into the top of the list after his 2nd round of qualifying and running 9.402 @ 142.54mph. The final Heads-Up class running qualifying was Super Comp. Local racer, Ralph Medrano, was able to secure the top position after his second round pass of 8.936 @ 141.39. As of 9pm, the eliminations continue. The next upcoming event is the RJ Gators & KOOL 105.5 Hot Rod Sunday Show on February 5, 2006. Complete with a classic car & truck Show-n-Shine, Test & Tune with a Gamblers’ Race on the ¼ Mile, the Nostalgia Shootout, Swap Meet, Car Corral and More. Gates open at 9am. Tickets are $15 for adults while kids 11 and under are free. Advance discount spectator tickets may be purchased at any Murray’s Speed & Custom location.
